A finished basement is a full build below grade
Finishing a basement means framing, insulation, egress, moisture control, and often adding a bathroom or wet bar — each of which touches a different trade. Below-grade work carries its own requirements under the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code for egress, ceiling height, and ventilation, and the same code applies in every Virginia jurisdiction. We hold the contract and the schedule and bring licensed Virginia plumbing, mechanical, and electrical subcontractors in under it, so the rough-ins and the finishes land in the right order and pass inspection the first time.

How the process works
We start with an on-site consultation, then develop a design and a detailed, line-item scope so you know exactly what is included. Once approved, we run the job through final inspection under our own supervision, with our licensed trade subcontractors on the mechanical work, written change orders before anything is added, and weekly progress updates with photos.
Basement finishing FAQs
Can you add a bathroom to my basement?
Yes. Basement bathrooms usually need an ejector pump or another below-grade drainage solution. That work is performed by a licensed Virginia plumbing subcontractor under our contract and is scheduled with the rest of the build.
Do you address moisture and egress code?
Yes. We handle moisture control and the code-required egress opening so the finished space is safe and passes inspection.
Can the basement be a rental or in-law suite?
We build to the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and to your county’s zoning, which is where the real limit usually sits. Tell us the intended use and we design and permit accordingly in Fairfax County, Arlington, Alexandria, Loudoun, and Prince William.
